Sporty Spice, 'Office' drone, 'Hills' fashionista among guests set for MMVAS

TORONTO - Spice Girl Mel C, Rainn Wilson of "The Office," and gossip blogger Perez Hilton are among the presenters set for this year's Much Music Video Awards.

The celebrity spectacle will also feature appearances by "Harold & Kumar" star Kal Penn, "Gossip Girl"'s Chace Crawford, pop star Jesse McCartney, and Whitney Port and Brody Jenner of "The Hills".

The awards show gets underway June 15 with a live broadcast and performances from Rihanna, Kardinal Offishall with Akon and dance crew JabbaWockeeZ.

Over the years, the bash has garnered a reputation for off-the-wall stunts that revolve around a massive street party that takes over Toronto's trendy Queen Street.

This year's leading nominees include Hedley, Belly and IllScarlett.

Benji Madden - Madden Wants To Marry Hilton

BENJI MADDEN wants to marry girlfriend PARIS HILTON insisting their relationship is genuine - and the socialite is "wife material".

The Good Charlotte rocker is desperate to prove critics of their relationship wrong, and claims he fell in love with Hilton long before they even got together earlier this year (07).

He tells an interviewer on Sirius radio, "We were in love before anyone even knew we were together. We have known each other for a long time, and I've always known the real Paris. I always knew that she was like...wife material or serious girlfriend material."

Madden gushes, "You just want to get on top of a mountain and go, I'm in love! But your fans would probably make fun of you."

And when asked if they could marry soon, he replies, "Nothing would make me happier. Wow, all right. Ok. I'm not gonna bet against you on that. We'll see. I'm very, very happy right now."

Babies could be on the horizon too; Madden admits babysitting his niece Harlow - whose parents are Nicole Richie and Joel Madden - has made him broody.

He adds, "Oh yeah, I babysit all the time. I love babysitting and I'm learning everything. I can change diapers now...One of Harlow's favourite songs is one of the songs on our record, so when I rock her to sleep, I'll sing it to her."

Raveonettes Sharin Foo's sister to replace her on tour

The Raveonettes have announced a reshuffled line-up for their forthcoming summer dates, when Louise Foo will replace her sister Sharin on vocals.

Sharin Foo, who is pregnant, will remain in Los Angeles and work on the follow-up to last year�??s �??Lust Lust Lust�??, while her sister takes to the road with the other half of The Raveonettes, Sune Rose Wagner.

Louise is a founding member of the art collective �??Ohmarymary�?? that directed the band�??s video for �??Aly Walk With Me.

The band will play several shows in Europe this summer as well as a slot at the KCRW Make Music festival in Pasadena, CA on June 21.

Zeitgeist picks up 'Trouble the Water'

Hurricane Katrina docu set for Oscar-qualifying run

NEW YORK -- The Hurricane Katrina chronicle "Trouble the Water," winner of this year's Sundance Grand Jury documentary prize, has been picked up for U.S. distribution by Zeitgeist Films.


North American rights to another Sundance world premiere, the 2007 gay Christian drama "Save Me," have been nabbed by First Run Features.


Tia Lessin and Carl Deal's "Water" uses camcorder footage from aspiring rapper Kimberly Roberts and Scott Roberts shot before and during the New Orleans disaster. The film tracks the couple through the aftermath, taking a critical look at the government's response and media coverage.


An Aug. 22 Oscar-qualifying run in Los Angeles and New York is planned, followed by a national platform release. Zeitgeist's Nancy Gerstman negotiated the deal with Cinetic Media.


Robert Cary's "Save Me" stars Chad Allen as a drug-addicted gay man sent by his brother to a Christian camp to make him straight, a task made more complicated when he ends up falling for his mentor (Robert Gant). Judith Light and Stephen Lang also star in the drama, set for a Sept. 5 release in New York. First Run negotiated the deal with Garbus Kroupa Entertainment, Mythgarden and Tetrahedron Prods.

Troubled singer Winehouse in rehab

Days after she was seen in a video on an alleged drug binge, soul singer Amy Winehouse has entered rehab.
In a statement released yesterday, Winehouse's record company Universal Music Group said: "Amy Winehouse's planned appearance at the NRJ Awards in France on Saturday has been cancelled as the artist has entered a rehabilitation clinic."
It continued: "Amy decided to enter the facility today after talks with her record label, management, family and doctors."
"She has come to understand that she requires specialist treatment to continue her ongoing recovery from drug addiction and prepare for her planned appearance at the Grammy Awards," the statement added.
